Haven and the First Nations Medical Board
The First Nations Medical Board (FNMB) is a separate body concerned with professional standards and recognition for traditional practitioners. Haven Wellness works alongside it — it is not the same organisation.
What Haven does
- Connects people with practitioners across the network.
- Develops education pathways and research through Haven R&D and Haven.EDU.
- Works with FNMB on standards, training design and professional recognition.
- States clearly what is available, what is expertise, and what is research.
What Haven does not do
- Issue medical licences or confer the right to practise.
- Speak for, or make decisions on behalf of, the FNMB.
- Claim that Haven programmes are accredited by any body.
- Offer legal advice about jurisdiction, sovereignty or regulatory status.
Questions of recognition, jurisdiction and standards for traditional practice are complex and vary considerably by place. Haven Wellness does not attempt to summarise or settle them here.
Practitioners remain responsible for their own licensure and regulatory obligations where they practise. If you are unsure of your position, seek advice appropriate to your jurisdiction.
